4. If you register and must drop out before July 1st, your money will be refunded. After July 1st, your fees will be committed to covering the costs of the terrain, tables, location, supplies, copies, and awards.
5. When you arrive Saturday morning you must check in at the scoring table. Anyone arriving late may forfeit that round or be penalized sportsmanship and victory points depending on the degree of the tardiness. Please be on time out of respect of your opponents and the organizers. The round starts promptly at 9am. Check in is from 8-845am.
6. We must have a legible copy of your list for checking validity and judging the band you will be placed by June 30th. You will be contacted ahead of time if you are ranked into Band 1 and will have 3 days to resubmit a list if you wish to get into a lower band until June 30th. If you wait to turn in your list, you will not have time to alter it. All lists sent in prior to July 1st will receive 5 bonus points for the GT. Lists received after June will get 0pts.
Judges reserve the right to veto a list that has too many "goodies" or deemed to powerful for the goal of our event. We dont have comp scoring, but 9 judges to check lists. A Negative WPS score counts as 1 veto. It takes 3 vetos before you're asked to change your list. Understand there is a ceiling to band 3 and band 2, so we need to have some sort of cap on band 1 to be fair to the other lists in band 1 and the group as a whole on day 2. The judges are experienced gamers and tournament players.
a) The army list must: Include your name, be typed, clear and readable. Contain all point costs of models, upgrades, equipment, magic items etc.
7. If it is discovered you are using a different list at the GT than you submitted, you may be asked to leave or have a deduction in overall points.
8. Legible copies of your list must be provided to your opponent AFTER each game. Failure to do so can cost your sportsmanship and tournament points. Take time to add up the scores right. Use your opponents list to verify the victory points are correct.
9. 2250pts is the MAX. Do not turn in a list at 2251 or more points.
Miniatures
1. Where at all possible all models in the army should be “What you see is what you get”. This means Great Weapons, spears, shields, Marks, etc should all be evident. The majority of the unit should be equipped in that fashion, especially the front ranks.
2. Non GW miniatures are acceptable, but must be an appropriate model and must be on the correct sized base.
3. Conversions are allowed and encouraged. They must be evident as to what they represent to a reasonable standard. Special permission may be given on a case by case basis. Counts As and Proxy models are discouraged, but you may make your case if you have a specific conversion or theme.
4. Before each game go over your army with your opponent explaining any equipment, marks, upgrades, and types of characters. This is NOT an open list GT, so any hidden models (fanatics/assassins) or magic items are not revealed. Ambushers, tunnellers, and scouts should be mentioned. Ambushers and tunnellers can be decided upon at the end of deploying units, but before scouts and characters.
General Gaming
1. The Judge or Umpire will have the final word. No exceptions.
2. No swearing or offensive language or actions. You may be warned or asked to leave without a refund depending on the offense and/or number of offenses.
3. Roll your dice in an open area and make sure your opponent can see them. Agree prior to the game what a cocked die is and how you will handle rerolling them. All rolls must be made by the player, not spouses, kids, or buddies.
3. Warhammer 7th Edition rules, Errata, FAQs are in effect. Know the rules. Know your army.
4. Dogs of War are allowed in a list whose army book permits it. The Dogs of War GIANT and Ogre Kingdoms DoW are allowed with the armies listed in their rules, except Rhinox Riders are only allowed in OK armies. You may use Kislev and DoW Armies.
Storm of Chaos, Albion units and items, and Lustria armies are retired and not allowed.
No special characters, no appendix/back of book lists are allowed. This includes any named characters in the newer army books.
Game Play
Odd Number of Players
We will have several Ringers or House armies with lists to fit various bands. Their mission will be to provide fair and fun games but he is not there to give up freebie wins. They are ineligible for any awards. If they is not needed, they will act as a judges until such time they are needed.
Terrain
Terrain is preset. It does not move other than if Treesinging moves it. At the end of the game place the woods back in the estimated original location.
Woods block all LOS, even from hills to large targets.
Fanatics will die if they contact any terrain feature other than open ground.
Units cannot see over other units on the same hill.
Do not use the rulebooks model’s eye view to determine LOS.
Buildings will block LOS of large targets.
Ruins will be treated as soft cover and difficult ground.
Composition Scores
A group of tournament veterans will be judging your list and assigning a comp score. This score will determine who you play on day 1 and what, if any, advantages you get on day 2.
The 1st day’s three rounds will be entirely within your judged group, and Swiss System within the groups. On day 2 the groups will be dropped and a Pure Swiss System will re-rank the players overall for the final 2 battles. When you are matched up on day 2, there may be a note that says CHOOSE! and possibly BONUS!
CHOOSE! Means that player may choose sides, make the enemy deploy 1st unit, and choose to go 1st or 2nd starting the game. BONUS! Means that player also receives +3 additional battle points in addition to the CHOOSE! options.
The judges comp score will determine what you get. A small difference in the score means neither player will get an advantage. This ensures those that fall between the groups wont be penalized. If the gap is significant, the weaker comped army will get the CHOOSE! advantage. If the gap is double or more, the weaker comped army will get both BONUS and CHOOSE.
Grudges
No grudge matches due to the banding system.
Scoring
Game Scoring
Each game will be scored the following Battle Points. There will be up to four additional Battle Points available from completing objectives and missions in Scenarios
16 for a major win
13 for a minor win
10 for a draw
8 for a minor loss
6 for a major loss
Painting Scoring
Fully painted armies are not required, but are encouraged. To meet this goal we are awarding fully painted armies points for the effort to have a coherently painted army that looks like it belongs together. This may mean a chaotic or rag-tag look if appropriate. Judges will be looking out for armies where just the minimal is done, and those will be scored appropriately. Total possible 25pts
-
-
Nothing is painted: 0 pts
-
Partially painted: 1-15 pts
-
This will include those fully painted that lack effort and/or lack the attempt at cohesiveness i.e. it looks like you painted 3 units, your brother did 2, and you bought the rest on eBay.
-
Fully painted and coherent: 20 pts
-
This is an army where there is effort to make it complete.
-
-
WOW: 0-5 pts
These will be the hardest points to gain and will only be awarded to the very best armies that impress the judges the most.
-
-
The Best Presentation will be determined from those getting more than 20pts. The judging will not add any additional tournament points over the 25.
Sportsmanship
At the end of each game, you will be asked to complete a sportsmanship questionnaire up to 5pts per round. We ask that you be honest. Time and time again, people give max points to everyone they play and then are disappointed that the guy that was not a good sport is in the running for a best sport award.
At the end of the tournament you will also be asked to vote for the ‘Favorite Opponent’ amongst those players you played over the weekend. You may assign 2 FO points to 1 person that you played and 1 FO point to another person that you played. You may choose not to assign any bonus points at all.
The favorite opponent vote will add to the Best Sportsmanship Award and the favorite opponent points translate to:
6+ FO points = 5 tourney points
3+ FO points = 3 tourney points
1 FO point = 1 tourney point
This will be a total of 25pts + bonus points from Best Sports Vote (up to 6).
Generals Choice
Players vote for their favorite army for any reason such as theme, painting, composition or any reason they think should win an award. This is not necessarily a painting vote per se, but can be a comp vote too.
General’s choice award is from the most votes by your peers. The votes will also add to your tourney score as such:
5+ votes = 3 tourney points
2+ votes = 2 points
1 vote = 1 point
Max of 3pts per army.
